What are the statutory pension benefits in Indonesia?

In Indonesia, all employees, including foreign employees who have been employed for at least six months, are required to become members of the social security program. The program provides benefits covering workers' compensation, old age, death, and pension benefits.

The primary social security programs in Indonesia include BPJS Kesehatan, BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, and JSHK.

BPJS Ketenagakerjaan covers:

  • Work Accident Security, paid by the employer.
  • Death Security, paid by the employer.
  • Old Age Security, paid by both the employer and the employee.
  • Pension Security, paid by both the employer and the employee.

JSHK covers any work accidents that occur outside working hours and is paid by the employer.
