Notice Periods in Chile

What is the required notice period for an employee resignation in Chile?

In Chile, the law requires supported employees to provide a notice period of 30 days before resigning. However, it is common practice for employees to give 2 weeks' notice instead. Importantly, if an employee provides less than the legally required 30 days' notice, there are no penalties, and the employer cannot withhold any amount from the final settlement as compensation for not completing the full notice period.
