In Thailand, supported employees are entitled to a minimum of 6 days of paid annual leave after 1 year of employment. However, it is common for employers to offer between 10-15 days of annual leave. The specific amount is determined either by the employer in advance or agreed upon mutually by the employee and employer.
In Thailand, supported employees who have worked continuously for at least 1 year are entitled to a minimum of 6 working days of annual paid leave per year. This annual leave is generally accrued on a monthly basis after the completion of 1 year of service.
In Thailand, the policy for carrying over annual leave is not determined by law. However, employers can choose to allow it based on a prior agreement with the employee. Employers generally have two options:
Our employment agreement template includes provisions that accommodate both of these options.
Note: Our employment agreement template states that paid annual holidays will be pro-rated based on the supported employee’s start date with Velocity Global Thailand.
In Thailand, paid time off (PTO) is calculated using the following formula:
To request annual leave in Thailand, supported employees must follow these steps:
1. Submit the application to use annual holiday entitlements at least 5 working days in advance to the supervisor/manager.
2. The supported employee can take annual leave only after their supervisor/manager approves the application.
3. Requests for approval submitted after taking the annual leave will not be authorized.
4. Supported employees should submit their leave request through our Global Work Platform™.
Unlimited Paid Time Off (PTO) is not typically an option in Thailand. Due to local customs and practices, employers in Thailand usually provide fixed PTO allocations instead of unlimited PTO plans.
