What other statutory benefits are there in Peru?
In Peru, the following statutory benefits are available:
- Housing Allowance: Employees in the private sector who look after one or more children under the age of 18 can collect a housing allowance, provided they are not covered by a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). The allowance is equal to 10% of the current minimum wage. If both parents work for the same company, each parent will receive a housing allowance.
- Service Bonus: Employees are entitled to a service bonus after achieving certain service milestones with the same company:
- After 25 years of service, the employee receives a 25% bonus recognizing their years of service.
- After 30 years of service, the employee receives an additional 30% bonus.
These statutory benefits ensure employees receive additional compensation for their long-term service and support for housing when caring for children.
