How long is annual leave in Croatia?

In Croatia, a supported employee is entitled to a minimum of 4 weeks of annual leave each calendar year. This entitlement includes the following considerations:

  • The minimum annual leave begins upon the supported employee completing the necessary employment tenure.
  • Prorated leave is applicable if a supported employee has just started a new position, experienced a break of more than 8 days between jobs, or if their employment is terminated during the year.

What is the carry-over policy for annual leave in Croatia?

In Croatia, the carry-over policy for annual leave allows employees to save and carry over a maximum of 5 vacation days to the next vacation year. These carried-over days must be used by June 30 of the following year. However, if an employee is unable to use the carried-over days due to maternity or other child-care-related leave, the deadline is extended to December 31 of the next vacation year.

How is paid time off (PTO) calculated in Croatia?

In Croatia, paid time off (PTO) is calculated based on the following criteria:

  • Employees receive compensation equal to the minimum of their average monthly wage for the preceding 3 months while on vacation.
  • Workers who have been with a company for at least 6 months are entitled to all of their vacation time.
