What other statutory benefits are there in Saudi Arabia?
Saudi nationals enrolled in the General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI) in Saudi Arabia are provided the following statutory benefits:
- Short-term disability allowance: If a supported employee is injured due to work, they are entitled to a daily allowance while disabled. This allowance can be up to 100% of the supported employee's daily wage. If GOSI covers the employee's treatment, the allowance will be 75% of the daily wage.
- Permanent full disability: If a supported employee becomes fully disabled due to a work injury, they receive monthly payments equivalent to 100% of their average wage from the 3 months prior to the injury. This benefit lasts for 5 years, after which the employee is re-evaluated by a board of health professionals, and subsequently every 10 years.
- Partial permanent disability benefits: A supported employee who becomes partially disabled (50%-90%) due to a work injury is entitled to payment proportional to their degree of disability.
- Unemployment benefits: Unemployed individuals can receive benefits within 90 days of job loss, provided the termination was beyond their control. GOSI also offers support in compensation for up to 3 months in a new job, with reduced benefits for an additional 9 months.
- Survivors' benefits: Eligible family members of a deceased contributor receive equivalent payments if the death results from a work accident. To be eligible:

For expatriates in Saudi Arabia, GOSI offers specific benefits:
