If a supported employee is still within their probationary period, they can apply for 3 workdays of funeral leave. Additional travel time is granted when funeral arrangements necessitate travel overseas.

Regarding pay, bereavement leave payment in Pakistan is specifically outlined for female employees in the event of their husband's death. A female employee is entitled to Special Leave, known as Iddat Leave, which can last up to 130 days. This leave is fully paid and corresponds to 4 months and 10 days following her husband's death.

Supported employees in Pakistan seeking unpaid leave due to special circumstances can apply for it following the guidelines in the Employee Handbook. Pebl approves unpaid or personal leave based on personal conditions.

The process for applying for unpaid leave is as follows:

  • The supported employee must submit a written application for leave to the department head in advance.
  • The application should be provided via email or another appropriate method.
  • The application must include a detailed reason for requesting leave.

Eligibility criteria for unpaid leave require that:

  • The supported employee uses their entire annual leave allotment before applying for unpaid or personal leave.
  • If the requested leave exceeds the annual leave allotment, any additional days are considered unpaid or personal leave.
  • Sick leave is regulated by Article 4.6 of the Employee Handbook.
  • The number of unpaid or personal leave days is determined by Pebl based on individual circumstances.

It is important to note that unpaid or personal leave results in salary deductions, calculated on a daily basis, and these deductions are proportional to the period of absence. The deductions for personal leave, absence, or lateness are processed in the month following the absence.
