What is the required notice period for an employee resignation in Vietnam?
In Vietnam, a supported employee is required to provide prior notice before resignation as follows:
- At least 45 days if working under an indefinite-term employment agreement.
- At least 30 days if working under a definite-term employment agreement with a duration from 12 to 36 months.
- At least 3 working days if working under a definite-term employment agreement with a duration of less than 12 months.
- For certain sectors, occupations, and jobs, the period of prior notification shall follow the Government’s regulations.
